Review
Cindy is the protagonist of “Cindy’s Sundaes” game, as you sure have guessed already. She is a young woman who have inherited delicious ice creams recipes from her dead grandmother. The story begins fifteen years ago when Cindy would always loved to have some grandma’s yummy ice creams. Her grandma promised to teach her how to make ice cream when she grew up, but she never had the chance since her grandmother passed away.
But what Cindy didn’t know at first is that her grandmother wrote her a letter before she died, with the recipes to make ice creams. When Cindy read that letter she thought to honor her beloved grandma by opening an ice cream parlor of her own.
The game basically consists in creating matches of three or more scoops of ice cream in a row by dragging scoops vertically or diagonally. You have to fill the toppings bonus bar with stars by matching scoops that have toppings on them to obtain higher scores. The customer's happiness gauge will tell you the level of the customer’s satisfaction. Play well to keep it high or else your customer might become upset and leave. When you make matches, the ice cream gauge will fill up. When it is full, the customer will automatically be served. When you collect scoops with toppings on it you get bonus points. Each level has a required score to go to the next level. If you reach the Expert Goal score, you’ll obtain more tokens. Besides the matches in a row, you can try to form a Scoop Ring and a Giant Scoop to obtain extra scores.
When you first enter the game, you’ll be asked for a player name and then you’ll see the welcome screen with the following options:
- Change Player: the first time there’s no existing player. After you create one or more, they’ll be saved. When you enter into this submenu, you’ll be asked for a name as a new player. It’s possible to have a list of different players and record their performance. This way, you can play home tournaments with family and friends.
- Story Mode: this is one of the two modes available for playing the game. This mode recreates a background story in which you will go passing levels and winning prizes. There are two difficulty levels available: Casual and Expert.
- Survival Mode: this mode has no levels or background story. You just keep playing as long as you can.
- Options: this is the menu from which you can set some game options like: sound effects volume, music volume, mute all sounds, show tips and full screen. From here you can also view the game credits.
- Help: this option leads you to a four cards help information to learn the basics of the game.
- High Scores and Quit: no further explanation required.
Once you are playing, you can press the MENU button on the screen to pause the game, go to the options menu, or go back to the main menu.
